Dreamy Moon Bites Recipe

Lady of the silver moon, watch over me this night,
Guide my words and actions, and keep me within your sight.
I thank you for your love and for protecting me from strife.
I honor you for bringing charm and magick to my life.

These delicious and dreamy bites are perfect for your full moon rituals. They only take about 10 minutes to whip up, and they’ll be ready to devour in 40. I dusted these with some edible gold dust for a little extra sparkle and magick in honor of the full moon.

DREAMY MOON BITES

Makes 13 Bites
Hands-On Time 10 minutes
Total Time 40 minutes

Ingredients

  • 1 C Coconut - Unsweetened

  • 1 C Dried Apricots

  • 3 T Almond Milk or Water

  • 1 T Honey

  • 1 t Vanilla

  • 1 t Thyme - Fresh, Chopped

  • Pinch of Sea Salt

  • 2 T Ground Kava Kava Root*

*Optional - More about this herb down below. If you are nursing, pregnant, or have Parkinson's Disease, you should avoid this herb. You should also check with your doctor if you're on any other medications to make sure it's safe to combine.

The Method

  1. Place coconut in food processor or heavy duty blender. Swirl it around in there, and get it as fine as you can.

  2. Add remaining ingredients and swirl away. A dough ball should form. If it quits grabbing the "dough" scrape the sides down and pulse - scrape and pulse 2 or 3 times until you have the consistency you like. You may want to refrigerate the "dough" for 10-15 minutes before the next step.

  3. Take 1.5 - 2 T of the "dough" and roll in your hands to form balls.

  4. Time to decorate! You could roll in additional coconut or edible glitter or sprinkles or whatever your little heart desires. I went with edible gold dust.

  5. Let them set up in the fridge for about 30 minutes or the freezer for 10 minutes. (I get it. I'm impatient, too.)

The Magick

Coconut Magickal Properties

Is associated with the moon and water, so it'll help with feeling all those feels that many of us experience during full moons. She also aids in protection and purification which is great for forgiving and releasing those have you hurt you. (Full moons are a perfect time for for forgiveness rituals.)

Apricot Magickal Properties

She is also associated with water and Venus - often used in love spells and potions. I used her to help us in loving ourselves and others during the heightened emotions that can come with moon work.

Thyme Magickal Properties

More water and more Venus energy from this babe! Thyme packs a pretty solid punch when it comes to magickal powers. She's known for removing all sorrows and ailments and ensuring restful sleep free of nightmares. All of it is pretty perfect for ritual work, the current celestial energies, and working through our shit.

Kava Kava Magickal Properties

This lovely comes to us from the South Pacific area and is still used in rituals and ceremonies in those communities. I'm a big fan of dream work especially during the full moon which is one of the reasons I decided to include Kava Kava in the recipe. For most, it'll make you feel relaxed and even euphoric. It releases dopamines in your brain. It is important to be mindful of your dosage with this herb, because it can take a toll on your kidneys and if your dose is too high it can make some anxious instead of helping with your anxiety. The nice thing is that even though it is slightly intoxicating, it also increases your focus and alertness.
