Moontails: Virgo Full Moon Ritual + Recipe
Full Moons offer up a sense of balance and a reminder that we need both ends of the spectrum and everything in between, because it highlights the opposite signs of the zodiac wheel. This month we experience the influence of Pisces and Virgo. I particularly love this duo, because it gives all the as above, so below energy reminding us that the connection between our earthly and spiritual bodies is where the true magick happens.
We’re moving from big Saturn energy (Capricorn and Aquarius seasons) which is about limitations to expansive, anything is possible Jupiter energy (Pisces' traditional ruler). This new moon is a moment where we can bring these energies together to realize our biggest dreams. The things that we never thought were possible. Many of us will experience some surprise opportunities come through around this new moon and through the lunar cycle. What I love about this energy mashup is that Saturn is anchoring our dreams and offering them the stability and structure we need to see the manifestation through to the end. It’s about actually realizing our dreams instead of just dreaming them. It’s the ultimate dreamer and doer partnership.
The Moontails also got a bit of a refresh, and you can now easily add them into your own spellbook, grimoire, or book of shadows. It includes themes, tarot and journal prompts, the moontail recipe, and more correspondences to help you work with the energy of the moon.

It's also a powerful stone for the physical body and overall physical health which is closely tied to Virgo as well.
LAPIS LAZULI: This magic rock is one of the many truth teller stones, and it supports us in speaking our truth clearly. Natural Signs & Symbols
SQUIRREL: These playful creatures always appear to be busy and maybe a scoche anxious much like the hard-working (aka over-working) Virgo archetype. Squirrel allies remind us to take time to play amidst all our work and to find simple joys in life. They also carry a message of preparedness as they don’t hibernate and keep stores of food hidden beneath the earth for when they need it. Take stock of your resources and pay attention to what you might have available to help you move onto the next cycle. As with all natural symbols squirrel may carry a different message for each of you reading this. Are you too active? Not active enough? Is your energy scattered? Are you planning for the future? Or could you use to put some plans into place?
LILY: The lily traditionally symbolizes fertility, rebirth, and purity which aligns quite nicely with the mythology behind the Virgo constellation/archetype. Going beyond purity as a strictly virginal concept, it has to do with clearing and cleansing our energy so we have a pure foundation to move forward. How can you use the wisdom you’ve gained over the cycle to help you move forward to the next? What do you need to remove from your life to allow for a fresh start? Much like the correspondence of The Hermit to Virgo from the Major Arcana, the lily asks us to spend some time in self-discovery mode which is another aspect of purity - being true to who you are in the purist most unadulterated sense.
