Moontails: Virgo Full Moon Ritual + Recipe

Full Moons offer up a sense of balance and a reminder that we need both ends of the spectrum and everything in between, because it highlights the opposite signs of the zodiac wheel. This month we experience the influence of Pisces and Virgo. I particularly love this duo, because it gives all the as above, so below energy reminding us that the connection between our earthly and spiritual bodies is where the true magick happens.

We’re moving from big Saturn energy (Capricorn and Aquarius seasons) which is about limitations to expansive, anything is possible Jupiter energy (Pisces' traditional ruler). This new moon is a moment where we can bring these energies together to realize our biggest dreams. The things that we never thought were possible. Many of us will experience some surprise opportunities come through around this new moon and through the lunar cycle. What I love about this energy mashup is that Saturn is anchoring our dreams and offering them the stability and structure we need to see the manifestation through to the end. It’s about actually realizing our dreams instead of just dreaming them. It’s the ultimate dreamer and doer partnership.

The Moontails also got a bit of a refresh, and you can now easily add them into your own spellbook, grimoire, or book of shadows. It includes themes, tarot and journal prompts, the moontail recipe, and more correspondences to help you work with the energy of the moon.

Crystals, Gems, & Minerals

AMETHYST: A peaceful stone that taps into the energies of balance, intuition, and healing which aligns beautifully with the energies of Pisces. It's also a traditional birthstone for the month of February. It offers a healthy dose of spiritual protection to allow you to further explore your psychic gifts and spirituality.

AQUAMARINE: One of my favorite magic rocks. It's helpful for connecting your heart and your voice, and encourages you to speak your highest truth. It offers an emotional refresh with a side of mental clarity. It plays into the themes of aligning and opening both your heart and your mind towards manifesting opportunities that we see with this new moon.

FLUORITE: An absorber of negative energies, this stone can help clear your mind and allow you to see more possibilities in your life. It helps with the flow of thoughts and ideas and is especially helpful when it comes to making decisions. Another stone that activates and aligns your energetic centers leading to a stronger connection to your highest self and truth.

LAVENDER JADE: This awakening stone activates and aligns your spiritual body. It can help you connect with your soul's desires which is a strong theme for this new moon. It's an excellent ally for astral travel, connecting to other realms, journeying and visioning.

Natural Signs & Symbols

JELLYFISH: Going beyond the obvious watery connection to Pisces, jellyfish teach us to move with the ebb and flow of life. To find balance and remain open and flexible. These also happen to be very big Piscean qualities. There's also a beautiful correlation here with Pisces being the final sign of the Zodiac and Jellyfish being one of the most ancient creatures that still exists today. Both hold an immense amount of wisdom and deep connection to the spiritual. Both Jellyfish and Pisces know that their "skin is thin" and that they will feel/express things more strongly than others, but they adapt and learn how to navigate those emotions, threats, and challenges. They allow the current to carry them instead of fighting against their nature. Both of these symbols invite us to embrace and express our most authentic self.

WATER LILY: Much like our Piscean friends, Water Lilies thrive when rooted in the element of water. These are another life force that has been on our planet since pre-historic times speaking to the ancient wisdom held within. Many fish even feed on this plant which means Pisces, especially, can find nourishment and nurturing from the energies carried by the Water Lily. This plant ally reminds us that we need to water to grow, and sometimes we need to stay submerged in our feelings before we're ready to release them. Their growth pattern also mirrors the cycle of life, death, and rebirth much like Pisces. These plants are a cultural symbol across the world and often sacred to gods and goddesses.
