5 Years of Magick Makers
Erin here, High Witch and Founder of Magick Makers, with some exciting updates. I’ve been working hard behind the scenes on this next step for Magick Makers, and want to share all the details with you—our community.
Dear Magical Community,
As I sit down to write this letter, surrounded by remnants of ritual supplies and the gentle flicker of candlelight, I can hardly believe we're celebrating five years of Magick Makers. Five turns of the Wheel, countless spells cast, and a community that has grown beyond my wildest dreams.
When I first opened our virtual doors in February 2020, I had visions of creating a physical haven for witches and the craft-curious. Life, as it often does, had other plans. What emerged instead was something far more powerful—a web of connection that transcends physical space, weaving together seekers and practitioners from all corners.
These past few years have shown us just how vital our magical communities are. As the world around us grows increasingly hostile to those who dare to live authentically, who dare to believe in something more, who dare to honor ancient ways and forge new paths —we've discovered that our greatest protection lies in coming together. Every time we gather, whether in person or virtually, we strengthen the magical current that flows between us.
This realization has guided a profound shift in how Magick Makers will serve our community moving forward. While I've loved crafting ritual baths, tinctures, and magical remedies over the years, I've come to understand that my truest calling – our most vital work—lies in creating spaces where you can discover and embrace your own magical abilities. After all, one of my favorite magical philosophies has always been "fuck around and find out"—pushing past the fear, trying something new, and discovering just what kind of magic you're capable of when you dare to explore beyond your comfort zone.
Starting this spring, we're refining our focus to concentrate on what we do best: creating sacred containers for learning, growth, and community care. This means expanding our educational offerings, deepening our Kindred Club experience, and providing more resources to support you as you develop your own powerful practice. SPELLbook will continue to be your quarterly companion, filled with wisdom and practical magic for these challenging times.
For those who have been with us since the beginning, you know that adaptation and evolution are central to any magical practice. Just as our ancestors adjusted their craft to meet the needs of their times, we too must respond to the calls of our community. The political forces working to suppress personal power, bodily autonomy, and spiritual freedom – forces that particularly target our Black, brown, queer, and trans kin—have only strengthened my resolve to create spaces where we can gather our power, share our knowledge, and support one another. Our magic flows from many sources—ancestral traditions passed down through generations, wisdom rekindled from the ashes of persecution, practices born from resistance and survival, and new paths forged in the light of self-discovery. When we bring these traditions together, when we honor the unique magic each of us carries, our collective power grows exponentially.
This is why our community must be a space where every witch—regardless of their path, tradition, gender identity, sexuality, race, or background—can show up fully and authentically. Where we don't just welcome diversity, but celebrate it as the source of our strength. Where we recognize that the richness of our different experiences, practices, and traditions makes our magic more potent, our circles more powerful, and our community more resilient.
To be clear—this isn't about stepping back, but about stepping more fully into what has always been at the heart of Magick Makers. Recognizing the spark of magic that already exists within each of us and creating space for that spark to grow into a flame that can light the way for others.
Your trust and presence over these five years have been nothing short of transformative. Every market, every workshop, every shared ritual has shown me that when witches gather, real change becomes possible. While some of our offerings may be changing, our commitment to creating welcoming, supportive spaces for you to explore and deepen your craft remains unchangeable as the stars.
For those wondering about specific changes, I'll be sharing more details about our new offerings and the transition in the coming weeks. Know that everything we're moving toward has been carefully considered with divination, intention, and most importantly, with your needs in mind.
Remember, as I often say, your magic is always there when you're ready to return to it. Now, more than ever, we need spaces that honor that return, that remind us of our inherent power, that help us remember who we are and what we're capable of together. Sometimes, the most powerful magic comes from simply daring to try – to fuck around and find out what happens when we trust our intuition and embrace our authentic selves.
With gratitude and feral magic,
Erin

P.S. Keep your eye on your inbox—Kindred Club members will be the first to learn about our new educational pathways and community initiatives. And yes, the Winter Solstice Market will return in December 2025—some traditions are too precious to let go.
