Moontails: Taurus New Moon Cocktail Recipe

For every new moon, I’ll be sharing a Moontail Recipe. I’ll be doing a mix of both alcohol and herbal cocktails for this series. Stay tuned for some additional elements to be added to this series to give you an entire experience to honor the moon’s energy.

Botanical BAE Cocktail Recipe featuring violet, elderflower, and gin.

Botanical BAE Cocktail

Ingredients

2 oz gin

1 oz violet simple syrup (or Creme de Violette)

1 oz St. Germain

1 oz lemon juice (~one, small lemon)

Splash of champagne

Ritual

Combine the first four ingredients in a shaker with ice, and shake, shake, shake.

Strain the mix into a glass and top with a splash of champagne.

Kick back and enjoy!

MagicAL Properties

Violets, like Taurus, are ruled by Venus. These sweet flowers help to induce sleep and are said to be able to change your luck - and even grant your wishes. She makes this cocktail the perfect nightcap before you head into dreamland.

Elderflower is also ruled by Venus and considered sacred to Mother Goddesses. It’s another flower heavily associated with witches and magick. She offers protection and prosperity for your home.
