Taurus New Moon Guide

May 16, 2026 | 25° Taurus | 4:01 PM ET

This is the third and final new moon carrying the 13/4 and 22/4 essences. There has been a lot of work over this stretch — navigating global events and our own inner healing, and how the two are interconnected and inform one another. You can see it in the numbers themselves: 1 and 3, the individual energy of 1 and the expansive, outward energy of 3, together creating a new way, releasing the old, being willing to do things differently.

These past new moons have all served as thresholds. New moons do that, but with the other planetary and energetic alignments at play, the threshold theme has been amped up quite a bit. What this one feels like is a settling. Not settling for — settling into. Easing into and accepting the necessary discomfort that's on the path of healing and transformation. The discomfort of ending is what leads us to the comfort and stability so many of us have been yearning for.

With Taurus energy at play, you're also being asked to consider where your resources — time, money, energy — are going. Does it align with your values? One thing you have to know about Taurus is that they're not going against their values for anything. It's a sign with a lot of integrity, and this lunation is asking you to look inside to see where your values are and whether how you're moving through the world lines up with them. Practicality and simplifying are also big factors in how you think about the upcoming cycle and the intentions you're setting.

Taurus isn't afraid of a little work either, which is good, because this lunation is asking quite a bit of us. It feels like a continuing closure of one cycle, with Chiron at the final degrees of Aries asking us to look honestly at our wounds and find our healing in them. It's through recognizing and processing the emotions around those wounds that we help each other heal too.

This moon has teeth though. Not the soft, roses-and-naps version of Taurus. The other side — the one that protects what she loves, the one that refuses to compromise on what matters. So while this moon is asking a lot, especially around finalizing the processing and release of old wounds that aren't serving us any longer, it's also asking us to find the balance. To find pleasure in the work, in the release, in the healing. To simplify, to get down to the foundations and roots, less about shiny objects and more about the quality of our life. For the work to be meaningful and worthwhile, there has to be pleasure and joy in it too. That balance is what gives your intentions longevity and you the resilience to keep moving toward them. Intentions set tonight have a lot of beautiful growth available to them, but remember that Taurus knows good things take time and effort.

Because of those teeth, this moon is better for quietly connecting and reflecting (which the numerology supports too). There may be some surprises — the kind that might be unpleasant but necessary. It's a good day to do some grounding work to help you connect with your center and your guides. Spend some time in nature. Eat good food. Do things that offer you a bit of comfort, because you may be asked to sit in some discomfort in favor of your growth and hopefully our collective growth too.
