Moontails: Libra Full Moon Ritual & Recipe
She is pink perfection with a dark side to boot. We love her for it. Libra truly is the ultimate balancing act between light and dark.
Venus is the planetary ruler for this archetype, but Saturn is exalted in the sign of Libra which gives us a scoche of darkness. It's why you'll often see Libra's who are very light and ethereal as well as Libra's who lean a bit heavier towards black and gothic aesthetics.
You'll notice the correspondences and energies I discuss below embody this dichotomy which I think gets a little more pronounced with the Libra Full Moon as it helps to shine a light in the darkness and balances the energies of the Libra Moon and Aries Sun.

Crystals, Gems, Minerals, & Metals
DESERT ROSE: These beautiful crystals are formed by sand, wind, and water interacting with selenite to create those beautiful petals or ripples in the surface of the stone. Much like Libra, Desert Rose Selenite invites grounding and balance. You may also notice yourself feeling more creative when you work with this stone - another very Libran quality. It also helps with taking action and self-expression which is encouraging energy for this sometimes indecisive air sign.
PINK TOURMALINE: This pink perfection helps connect the head and the heart which really embodies the energy of Libra - the most compassionate of the air signs (air rules over the mind). It offers up some gentle but powerful emotional healing. It’s a nourishing stone serving up a lot of Venusian vibes (Libra’s planetary ruler) with it’s ability to comfort, calm, and center.
SMOKY QUARTZ: I love this stone to honor the darker side of Libra and the Earth Deities in general. This crystal does wonders for establishing healthy boundaries to protect your energy and your peace - an important theme for the Libra archetype. It’s very supportive in releasing emotional baggage or beliefs, so you can make space for new, more beneficial energies to flow into your life. This crystal is featured in our Hellebore Flower & Crystal Essence.
Plants & Herbs
DAMIANA: A sensual herb that’s celebrated as an aphrodisiac and known to help stimulate sexual activity. This same stimulating effect can help to alleviate moderate depression and nervous system exhaustion. The sensual and restorative nature embodies the Venusian energies of Libra, and helps us to become acquainted with love in our lives through physical pleasure. This herb is featured in our Corporeal Smokeshow Blend.
BELLADONNA: (Bane) This deadly nightshade leans into the malefic Saturnian influences present with the Libra archetype, and taps into the witchy, darker side similar to Smoky Quartz. (Saturn is exalted in Libra which means it feels empowered in that sign.) Even the plant itself mimics the Crooked Path further solidifying it’s connection to witchcraft. The ambiguity mirrors the airy and unpredictability that exists within Libra energy, and helps us to remember that not much in the world exists in absolutes. Representing both light and dark, it can hex and it can heal. If you’d like to work with this plant, I’d suggesting going through an experienced herbalist on the posion path. I’m a fan of Bane Folk and The Poisoner’s Apothecary.

Natural Signs & Symbols
SPARROW: A symbol of household spirits lends this animal guides energies well to the Venus-ruled Libra. The small and spunky bird reminds us of our power and our ability to hold our own (again with the boundaries). With the three spots on its chest forming a downward arrow, it helps us connect the head and throat to our heart. Reminding us of our dignity and worth regardless of our circumstances.
PASSIONFLOWER: This feels like the most natural connection to Libra with its ability to calm and alleviate emotional confusion. It helps calm overactive minds and soothes the nervous system allowing us to navigate stressors and anxieties with a bit more ease. It carries the energies of Libra and the Moon making it a lovely companion for any workings around the Full Moon in Libra (or the New Moon in Libra).
