Herbal Grimoire Circle
Join us for this unique co-working session where you'll begin creating your own personalized herbal documentation system alongside fellow plant enthusiasts and magical practitioners.
Unlike a traditional workshop, the Herbal Grimoire Circle is a guided creative space where you'll actively work on your own herbal grimoire, materia medica, or herbarium while receiving support, templates, and inspiration. Host Erin Harker will provide structure and resources while you put pen to paper and begin documenting your plant relationships in a format that resonates with your personal practice.
Date: March 18, 2025
Time: 7:00pm-9:00pm EST
Location: Virtual via Zoom
During our circle, you'll:
Explore various historical and contemporary documentation styles
Choose a format that aligns with your magical practice
Begin creating entries for herbs you already work with
Learn effective ways to record plant properties, experiences, and folklore
Connect with fellow practitioners in a supportive, creative atmosphere
Whether you're just beginning to work with herbs or have years of experience but never organized your knowledge, this circle provides dedicated time and structure to begin creating a lasting reference that will serve your practice for years to come.
What to bring:
A notebook, journal, or paper for your grimoire/materia medica
Colored pencils, markers, or other art supplies you enjoy
Any pressed plants, photos, or clippings you wish to include
Notes about herbs you already work with
A comfortable space where you can work creatively
Templates & Resources Provided:
Sample page layouts from various traditions
Herbal correspondence quick-reference sheets
Documentation categories and frameworks
Visual recording techniques (even for non-artists!)
Digital templates you can print and use after the session
About this format:
The Herbal Grimoire Circle is intentionally designed as a working session rather than a lecture. Most of our time together will be spent in active creation, with Erin providing guidance, answering questions, and offering feedback as you work. This format honors the traditional practice of grimoire creation as both a personal and community-supported endeavor.
Recording Format:
The instructional portions of this circle (introduction to documentation styles and techniques) will be recorded and shared with participants and Kindred Club members for future reference. Working sessions and group sharing will not be recorded, creating a safe space for creativity and authentic interaction. This hybrid approach preserves the valuable educational content while maintaining the intimate nature of our collaborative creation time.
Registration includes:
2-hour guided creative session
Digital herbal documentation templates
Herb correspondence reference sheets
Personalized feedback on your grimoire structure
Connection with fellow herbal practitioners
Access to recording of instructional segments
