Observable Universe Pop-Up Collaborators

River Takada (She/They), Rivtak

River Takada is a Japanese American mixed media artist, based in Durham, NC.

River’s work is known for embracing the spirit of re-use; using high quality remnant materials left behind by local textile factories. In small batches, Rivtak products are designed with little to zero waste. Each piece is carefully crafted around a purpose... adornment and awareness. The artist is always experimenting with new materials and offers a variety of creative workshops, sharing her Japanese and American textile heritage.

River has spent the last two years as the Resident Artist at Observable Universe. Her work focuses on sustainability and the beauty of the natural world, blending art with environmental activism.

Erin Harker (She/Her), Magick Makers

High Witch and Founder of Magick Makers, Erin has served as a spiritual guide and conduit for people around the world. She is known for her witchcrafted apothecary goods, esoteric teachings, and placemaking events.

From spirits to angels, deities to otherworldly beings, she's always had a foot in both realms—a gift passed down through generations of her ancestors. It's this sacred connection that infuses her practice with depth and authenticity, guiding her every step on the witch’s path.

With nearly three decades of experience, Erin brings a deep connection to ancestral wisdom, spirituality, and community-building to the Observable Universe Pop-Up.

Heather Anne (She/Her), Observable Universe

Born and raised in the North Star State, Heather has been a serial collaborator at the intersection of the arts, education and social justice for the better part of the past two decades in Durham, North Carolina. She is the creative catalyst behind Observable Universe, an emerging creative and generative space, dedicated to supporting the needs of creatives and caregivers through art therapy workshops, flexible studio and gathering space, a robust resource library and an array of curated multi-media platforms.

Heather is excited to share Observable Universe with River and Erin as they reimagine the retail space through the Fall & Winter seasons.
