For this ritual, we’re preparing for dream work and divination through our dreams while we sleep. Here are some ideas for the kind of intention you might want to set. Feel free to use as much or as little as you’d like. A singular focus may yield more useful insights, but follow your own intuition here.

  • Ask a specific question that you’d like answered.

  • Ask for help or guidance with a specific situation or area of your life.

  • Ask to connect with an ancestor or guide.

  • Ask for your dream travels to be safe and smooth.

Write your intention (also called a petition) on a small piece of paper and fold it up. You’ll place this under your candle before you light it.
