Astrology Forecast for Scorpio Season 2026
October 23-November 22, 2026 • Death, Mystery, and the Numinous
Numinous is my favorite word for Scorpio. Truly befitting for what I consider to be the witchiest of signs. (Disclaimer: Of course every sign can be a witch sign. That's why we're all here.)
Numinous is mysterious. It's what lives beyond the veil. But more than a simple mystery, the numinous inspires awe. It fills you with a sense of reverent wonder. It's here in the sign and season of Scorpio where we experience the supernatural and feel the energy of the sacred and the divine. Imagine a time when you were so deeply moved by a piece of art or music or a spiritual experience that you found yourself overwhelmed with emotion and fascination and appreciation all at once. That is Scorpio energy.
This year's Scorpio season is living up to its Major Arcana card, Death. Scorpio does not fear the darkness or death. Instead it looks directly into it—usually with a surprising gentleness and compassion that isn't talked about enough. This sign reminds us that it's within these areas that we come closest to truth.
The season opens with Venus at the heart of the Sun. Venus has been retrograde since early October, and on the first night of Scorpio season she meets the Sun in the very first degree of the sign. It's the midpoint of her journey backward, a moment of clarity in the middle of a long review. The next morning Mercury stations retrograde too, and for most of the season both planets will be moving back over familiar ground.
Scorpio's energetic leaning supports us here. Transformation and regeneration are calling, especially in the area of your life (house) ruled by Scorpio. You'll feel pulled to go deep in your reflections, and luckily we'll have Scorpio's wisdom on our side to see things clearly when old patterns or people rear their heads. With Venus, you might be exploring your values, relationships, and passions. Mercury may invite you to (re)consider your perspectives around death and the otherworld, hidden motivations and desires, and unspoken truths.
The Full Moon in Taurus arrives within days, asking what we hold onto for comfort and what we're ready to shift and shed. Then the veil thins. Samhain arrives just over a week into the season, and the New Moon in Scorpio follows on November 9, the darkest point of a season dripping with luscious darkness. With both retrogrades still in motion, this moon favors quiet seeds planted in the depths and left to grow there.
On November 13, Mercury and Venus station direct within hours of each other, and we’re ready to move forward with the truths and wisdom we found in reflection. The final week brings a surge of fire as Mars and Jupiter meet in Leo and push against the Scorpio Sun. Confidence and impatience both run high. Scorpio's last lesson is discernment, knowing which impulses carry us forward and which pull us back into old ways and forms.
By the time the Sun crosses into Sagittarius, something in us has ended and something has been regenerated. That's the gift of the Death card. It clears space for what comes next.
