What Dwells Within: A Retreat into Stillness with Ariela Rossberg
What Dwells Within: A Retreat into Stillness with Ariela Rossberg
Turn inward - what do you hear? What do you feel? December is an invitation within. As we begin to explore the stillness of the season, we give ourselves time and space to rest, process, and heal.
In this workshop, you’ll discover how to work with your emotional body - in communion with your heart, and all that it feels.
You’ll be guided through an exploration of creative alchemy and stillness. With prompts, tools, techniques, and witchy ways to connect with your creativity and the stillness this season offers, you’ll walk away feeling held and whole. The workshop will end with a card pull from Dirt Gems.
If you walk away from our gathering with one thing, it will be an acceptance and appreciation of stillness. You’ll feel the steadiness of your breath as it flows. You’ll see your creativity through a new lens, in alignment with the ebb and flow of the seasons and you’ll understand the ebb and flow of your own creative cycles. You’ll experience the magic of Creative Alchemy and have a solid foundation for how to turn inward, witness all that dwells within, and alchemize it through creative expression.
This workshop is for you if:
You want to tune in to your internal compass and deepen your connection to your creative practice;
You feel alignment with nature and want to use the ebb and flow of the seasons to inspire you;
You love creating, making, and storytelling but feel disconnected from your creative instincts;
You’re looking to create a sense of ritual in your creative practice, and aren’t afraid to get a little witchy!
What to bring to the workshop:
I want you to capture your thoughts and reflections in ways that make sense to you. I find that the experience of pen/pencil/marker/etc… on paper is incredibly freeing, but that doesn’t always work for everyone’s needs or brains and that’s okay.
I strongly encourage you to reach for a journal and/or sketchbook, and bring your favorite writing/doodling tools. If that doesn’t support your needs and your brain, use what works for you. Just make sure you’re able to capture notes for when you feel inspired and have a space to doodle.
About Ariela
Ariela Rossberg is a creative witch, writer, and artist in upstate New York who delights in the celestial and earthly forces that guide our lives. She cries often, rarely passes a tree without hugging it, and will talk for hours about how communing with ourselves and with nature is essential to living an embodied life. Her heart-centered work is rooted in communion and creative ritual influenced by the moon, the earth, and the wheel of the year. She throws Bad Art Parties and runs Commune to Create, a seasonal membership encouraging creatives to hone their sense of trust and embodiment in their practice. She was recently published in Taproot Magazine for her article about creative living in alignment with the lunar cycle, and is the author of children’s book, The Gray Days. She’s here to hold space for the magic of living and creating. Stick around - things get witchy, weird, and wonderful in this part of town.
